Zio Ziegler

Zio Ziegler is an amazing artist, and I happened to walk past one of his murals today in downtown Oakland.

Zio Ziegler (born February 18, 1988) is an American artist, known for his intricately patterned paintings and his large-scale murals that can be seen in major cities in the U.S., Europe and Asia. His work reflects the diverse influences of late medieval and quattrocento painting, aboriginal, African and naive art, and the European graffiti movement. Driven by intuition and depicted with a playful use of space and materials, his subject matter reflects the human condition, with reference to allegorical, mythical and artistic lineage. He paints in the belief that his paintings complete themselves by triggering self-discovery in their viewers. Bonus; a picture of me taking pictures. Good for scale right? Courtesy of Alex Fossoey.

Water Runs Dry

Last month came and went so fast, and I wanted to show and tell what has been going on.
First of all I’ve been working for a Swiss clothing brand with still life of accessories and such for a couple of weeks with a London based production studio.
In addition I’ve been trying to get an agency in Milan, which is proving to be very challenging. As well I’m being told that my style is not commercial enough, which makes sense since commercial jobs are more lucrative for the agencies.
And last, but not least, I’ve been working on a new exhibition that was to open last week, but the management wanted me to do the opening exhibition in the fall instead, so to give them more time for publicity and so on. Since September is many months from now, and I’ll be doing new work for that, I decided to start showing the different works that I’ve been doing to complete it.

Men’s Fashion Week Milan 2012

During this Men’s Fashion Week in Milan I was working with WHITE Milano. They organise the showcase of over 100 brands and designers in Via Tortona. The art-innstallations was by Erika Calesini. I was there to photograph the events, detail-shots and ‘whatever I found interesting.’ That’s exactly what I did, so here’s a look at how it all was:
